First Day Off In Nine

Beings that this was my first day off in nine, I said Screw It. I spent the day catching myself and my wife up with fam. Visited our old oldest son, some cousins, and (personally) had a few drinks. And hell - it was still -9 F when we left this morning.

Back to the back-cracker tomorrow. And work. Couple of dogs I spent time with today : mine- Ellie and Trapper -

And our cousin's dog, Jake -

Jack and Coke's to finish the night off. Peace -

Opinion Notice Three

I've just recently started feeding birds through the winter. We humans have displaced so many birds in our recent history that I'm looking at this differently these days. I do wait until the fall migration is over before setting out suet for the local tree-knockers. And I also put out a generic seed mix to keep the sparrows away from the suet. And I scare off the squirrels and non-native birds as often as I can. This feeding has helped exceptionally in the matter of bird sound in the surrounding trees when I'm out doing chores. Jays, chickadees, nuthatches and three species of woodpecker are common sights and sounds now, rather than the nuisance sparrows and starlings.
